My name is Ange Bijou Umuhoza, but I go by Bijou. I was born and raised in Rwanda. My family and I immigrated here in the U.S. and lived in Maine. After high school, I enlisted in the U.S. Army and also started college. I got my bachelor's degree in 2015.
I left the service in January 2020, to focus on my master's degree in communications and my family. My hope is to put it to a good use in ending the stigma around mental health, and to focus on what is really going on in countries such as Rwanda.
